The GMA Pinoy MD and public affairs staff did a thorough interview on Dr.Marlon Lajo and patient,Ms. Elizabeth Ferrer about Blepharoplasty or more commonly known as eyelid surgery.
Ms. Ferrer’s eyes had a sad, droopy appearance. She wanted a more attractive and lively eyes. Dr. Lajo performed Blepharoplasty to bring back her youthful eyes. The whole cosmetic procedure which was performed in Healthway Medical Clinic, Alabang Town Center was captured from start to finish. Ms.Ferrer was very happy with the results. What is Blepharoplasty ?
The primary use of blepharoplasty is for improving the cosmetic appearance of the eyes. In some older persons, Blepharoplasty removes excess eyelid skin that can cause eye discomfort, affects appearance and is limiting a patient’s vision. Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper or lower eyelid. It can involve the removal of excess skin and fat deposits and the tightening of selected muscles surrounding the eyelids. Blepharoplasty or Eyelid surgery is a great way to improve the appearance of most men and women over the age of 40, though younger patients may sometimes benefit as well. Droopy upper eyelids or puffy lower eyelids (eyebags under the eyes) result in a sad,tired appearance. Blepharoplasty surgery can result in a more alert, youthful appearance without an extreme makeover.
Candidates for Blepharoplasty:
Men and women with sagging, drooping eyelid skin or has “bags” under the eyes.
What to Expect:
This is an outpatient surgery that takes 1-3 hours. You can go home the same day. Swelling or bruises will disappear in couple of weeks. After surgery you will still look like yourself, younger and more vibrant.
